Module 2 travels to the region of Mesopotamia located the Ancient Near East. The specific time period immediately followed the Paleolithic and Neolithic eras in which man developed the first form of writing.  Humans began settling along the fertile crescents of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, and bronze began to replace stone as the stronger material. Man quickly learned that more sophisticated innovations brought more sophisticated settlements.
