Maison Carree
30000 Place de la Maison Carrée, Nimes, France
Maison Carree is the best preserved structure from the Augustan architectural period. It contains Corinthian psuedoperipteral columns and is very similar to the Temple of Portunus located in Rome. The structure is also a reminder of the vast territories belonging to the Roman Empire. As a tourist, you can enter inside the original temple but it has now been renovated as a museum.
