Early Medieval Europe
Brest, France
Module 10 explores the Medieval Period that began in the 5th century after the final invasion of Rome by the Visigoth warriors. What followed was a steady wave of migratory invasions into Western Europe beginning with the Anglo-Saxons in Great Britain. The Franks emerged in the 8th century in both Francia and Germania- present day France and Germany, followed by the Ottonians, a succession of Saxon emperors who came to power by the 10th century.
